Therapy works best in real life
Kind Thinking OT exists because Rachael knew there was a better way.
After more than 15 years working as an occupational therapist, and after becoming a parent herself, she saw the gap between what families needed and what the traditional clinic model offered. Too rigid, too clinical and too disconnected from the reality of daily family life.
So she built something different.
How we work
Every family starts differently - some with a diagnosis already in hand, some with just a feeling that something's not quite right. Here's roughly what to expect:
Get in touch
Call, email or fill in the form and tell us as much (or as little!) as you know.
We’ll talk
We’ll arrange a time to have a conversation about your child, your family and what's actually happening day to day before scheduling the first appointment.
We come to you
Sessions happen at home, at school or wherever your child needs support most, built around your routine rather than a clinic timetable.
We keep everyone in the loop
Progress is shared with you and with school or other providers (if required or relevent) so the plan works everywhere your child is.
The team
Founder, Occupational Therapist
BA(hons) in Occupational Therapy, 2011 | Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh
Rachael has spent her career working with neurodiverse kids and their families, specialising in the intersection of OT, sensory processing and mental health. She understands, from both sides of the therapeutic relationship, how much it matters to feel seen.
What she’s most passionate about (and could talk about in her sleep!) is sensory profiles and why our bodies need to move throughout the day. Ask her about it. She’ll be delighted!
Get to know her a bit better:
What’s your morning ritual? I’m an early bird so I’m up and in the gym before my husband and kiddo even wake!
Where’s your favourite place in WA? We’re so spoilt for choice, but it has to be Margaret River. I just love the greenery (it reminds me of growing up in Scotland - but not quite as cold!), the chilled vibes…and the wine is a bonus!

Senior Speech Pathologist
BSc Speech Pathology, 2015 | Curtin University
As a lover of arts and culture - books, podcasts, movies, plays and gigs - it’s no wonder that she excels in the professional world of communication.
As a Speechie, she has a keen interest in articulation, expressive and receptive language and AAC, working collaboratively to explore different strategies and tools to help achieve their goal.
Get to know her a bit better:
What do you get up to at the weekends? I’ll be exploring new parks with my toddler and dog (Swaggy Jones!), taking on a new home craft project or arranging a games night with friends!
Where’s the best place you’ve visited? A hard choice, but I reckon travelling around the US with my husband on a country and blues music tour. Just incredible!

Let’s talk
You don't have to have everything figured out before you get in touch. A lot of our families start a conversation with us before they're even sure what kind of support they need, and that's fine - just call, email or fill in the form and we'll take it from there.
