Therapy that fits into your family’s life, not the other way around.
We come to you at home, at school or in the community because the best therapy doesn’t happen in a clinic, it happens where real life does.
Kind Thinking OT brings 15+ years of expert occupational therapy and speech pathology to families across Perth with our expertise, our warmth and a belief that your child is capable of more than the system has given them credit for.
You're already doing everything you can. You don't need someone to tell you your child is struggling - you need someone who'll genuinely listen, who has the expertise to actually help and who understands that your child's world doesn't pause for a Tuesday 2pm appointment.
That's the gap Rachael set out to close. With fifteen years of occupational therapy experience working with neurodiverse children and their families, she knows the most effective therapy doesn't happen in a clinic - it happens at home, at school and in the places kids actually live their lives.
So she built a practice that works that way. Welcome to Kind Thinking OT.
Empowering
Your kid is already capable, so we’re not here to “fix” them.
We work with children across the full spectrum of neurodiversity - ASD, ADHD, developmental delays, dyslexia and everything in between - including kids who don’t yet have a formal diagnosis but are clearly finding life harder than it needs to be. We focus on what your child can do, what they need and what’s getting in the way - and then we make things easier.
Collaborative
Real progress needs more than one person in the room.
We work alongside parents, teachers and any other therapists already involved so that strategies stay consistent wherever your child is - this way, you're never the only one holding the plan together.
Judgement-free
You and your child deserve a safe, judgement-free relationship.
With over 15 years' experience, we know our job extends beyond therapy for the child - we're supporting the whole family. Our role is to provide the confidence, tools and clear direction neurodivergent children and families need to thrive, so therapy feels like a source of power and possibility, not a "deficit" to fix.

Daily life can feel like navigating a maze for kids who experience the world differently. We work in spaces that matter most, including:
Motor skills: fine & gross motor development, coordination, handwriting
Emotional regulation: managing big feelings, building self-regulation strategies
Sensory processing: understand and responding to sensory differences
Social and play skills: turn-taking, reading social situations, building confidence
Self-care and independence: dressing, eating and daily routines
No clinical jargon, just practical, kind, evidence-based support that works in real life.
-
Our Speech Pathologists (or Speechies as we like to call them!) analyse all forms of communication and support kids with:
Speech sound development and clarity
Language development: understanding and using words and sentences
Social communication: conversation skills, reading cues, making and keeping friends
AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication): for non-verbal or minimally verbal children
Feeding and swallowing: safe eating and drinking support
Every plan is tailored to your kid’s specific needs and interests.
-
Sensory differences can often look like “behavioural probems”, but they’re not. We map your kid’s unique sensory needs across all eight (not just five!) then use that profile to make practical reccommendations for home, school and community. Once you understand the why, everything gets a little easier.
-
Handwriting involves a surprisingly complex chain of motor and sensory skills. If something’s breaking down - pencil grip, letter formation, core strength - we find exactly where, provide a clear summary report and let you know whether a full OT programme is needed or if a few targetting strategies at home will do the job.
-
An FCA is an essential step towards securing the NDIS funding your child genuinely needs. We take time to understand your child’s real life, not just their diagnosis, and translate that into clear, thorough documentation that advocates for the support they deserve.
Kind Thinking OT is not a registered NDIS provider but we accept NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed.
Real solutions for real life
We offer specialised occupational therapy, speech therapy support, sensory profiling, handwriting screening and functional capacity assessments for kids up to age 18 across the Perth metro area. Every plan is built around your family's actual routine, so strategies stick where they count whether at home, at school and in the community.

That's completely normal, and it's exactly why we're here. You don't need to have it figured out - just get in touch and tell us as much or as little as you know. We'll take it from there.
Ready to take the first step?
You don't have to have everything figured out before you get in touch. A lot of families start a conversation with us before they're even sure what kind of support they need and that's completely fine. Call, email, or fill in the form below and we'll get back to you.
